Back Intex launches mobile phones in Kerala

Kochi, Nov. 6 Intex Technologies (India) Ltd, a New Delhi-based company, has launched its mobile phones in the Kerala market.

The company has been active in the mobile phone segment in Northern, Eastern and Western India and recently entered the South. Intex has a portfolio of more than 20 entry, mid- and high-end handsets in single and dual SIM genres.

Speaking to reporters after the launch, Mr Sudhir Kumar, National Sales Manager, said the company aims to capture 5 per cent market share in the State by March 2010. The company has chalked out channel expansion plans by spreading out to northern and southern parts of the State.

He also unveiled three models of Intex handsets, including a dual SIM collection and a CDMA handset.

Intex Technologies is a 13-year-old IT hardware, mobile phones and electronics company that has a pan-India presence though its own network of two mother-warehouses, 28 branches, two regional offices, 64 service centres, 233 service franchisees and 12 resident service engineers. Brand Intex covers the business segments of PC, mobile phones, consumer electronics, computer peripherals, retail, and enterprise business.

During the last seven financial years, the turnover has increased from Rs 32 crore in 2001-02 to Rs 466 crore in 2008-09 at a CAGR of 46 per cent.
