Back Govt to revive Visvesvaraya Iron & Steel Our Bureau Bangalore, June 10 The State Government has decided to revive Visvesvaraya Iron and Steel Ltd (VISL), Bhadravathi, which is facing shortage of iron ore following the closure of mining by KIOCL Ltd in Kudremukh region. VISL is managed by Steel Authority of India Ltd and iron ore was being supplied by National Mineral Development Corporation. SAIL purchases iron ore from NMDC at Rs 3,000/tonne to run VISL. Mr V. Dhananjay Kumar, Karnataka’s Special Representative in New Delhi, told presspersons on Wednesday that the Government has permitted mining in Chitradurga and Tumkur districts.
