Bangalore, Nov. 16 Background screening company, First Advantage, has announced the launch of VerifyDirect, a database-driven online screening service. VerifyDirect will cover all sectors across all levels of employees and aims to be the largest database for India and the APAC region for employment history records, according to Mr Ashish Dehade, Managing Director (West Asia), First Advantage.

VerifyDirect will provide instant information on candidates through secured online transactions.

Apart from fulfilling employment purpose information, the database could be used by home and personal loan companies, for educational records and matrimonial purposes.

Explaining the difference between Nasscom’s National Skills Registry, which also has a database of IT and ITeS employees, Mr Ashish Dehade said that VerifyDirect seeks to cover all employment sectors and would offer free registration of employees to companies.

“The company seeking the information would have to pay First Advantage a fee for using the information, while the company that provides information on its candidates would earn credits for the same.”

Through this service, First Advantage would help the Human Resources department to reduce time-to-hire and enable it to focus on more productive and strategic functions, rather than invest its time on getting/providing past employee information from/to various third parties, Mr Dehade said.

First Advantage is expecting to register of about 10 million records in about two years, he added.
