Back Pat for South Indian Bank

In the Analyst 2008 Survey of Indian Banks conducted by the Institute of Chartered and Financial Analysts of India, South Indian Bank has emerged as the Best Performer in Asset Quality category among private sector banks, which include new generation and traditional banks in the country. The net NPA of the bank was lower at 0.40 per cent in September 2008 as against 0.71 per cent in September 2007, leading to lower provisioning requirement. The bank has also achieved Rs 60 crore in NPA recovery against the target of Rs 40 crore, a press release issued here said.
