Back ECIL upgrades infrastructure

Electronics Corporation of India Ltd (ECIL) has upgraded the infrastructure at its Tirupati unit to support execution of the order received from Election Commission of India for supply of 78,000 electronic voting machines (EVMs). In a release issued here, the corporation said the EVMs were expected to be deployed in the general and State Assembly elections scheduled to be held next year. The Tirupati unit in 2007 had manufactured around 14,000 such cases, the release added .
