Back Tea body recognises largest sellers, buyers

Coimbatore, Oct 2 The Tea Trade Association of Coimbatore has recognised and presented an award of excellence to the largest seller, buyer, broker and warehouse of tea at its 26th Annual General Meeting.

Tamil Nadu Tea Plantation Corporation has bagged the largest seller of tea award under the corporate sector category. It is said to have sold 34.60 lakh kg at the Coimbatore auction during 2007-08.

Largest seller

The largest seller under the Bought Leaf sector went to Evelyn Tea Factory, Kotagiri. Shri Shakthi Associates turned out to be the largest buyer of tea.

The firm had bought 17.27 lakh kg. The largest buyer of dust tea was Indcoserve and that of the leaf grade was Solar Tea Traders, Coimbatore.

Forbes Tea Brokers (Coimbatore) emerged the largest broker while the excellence award for the largest warehouse went to Saraf Enterprises India (P) Ltd.
