Back Chambers flay killing of CEO

New Delhi, Sept. 24

Industry chambers have condemned the killing of the Italian multinational Graziano’s CEO, Mr L. K. Chaudhary, triggered by labour unrest at its manufacturing facility. “It is a tragic, unwanted and gory act of violence and we strongly condemn the actions which led to Mr L. K. Chaudhary’s death. Such instances of industrial violence cannot be a solution to any problem and must not be tolerated,” said Mr Salil Singhal, Chairman CII Northern Region, in a statement. FICCI said such incidents would tarnish India’s image amongst overseas investors. Expressing similar concerns, the Assocham President, Mr. Sajjan Jindal, said it would be difficult to attract investments with such incidents occurring in the State. —
