Back New chiefs for 4 PSBs Our Bureau New Delhi, Aug. 2 The Government has appointed chief executives for four public sector banks - Allahabad Bank, Andhra Bank, Syndicate Bank and Vijaya Bank. The Finance Ministry on Saturday issued orders elevating four Executive Directors in different banks to the post of Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) in these four listed banks. While Mr K.R.Kamath, who was an Executive Director at Bank of India, has been appointed as CMD of Allahabad Bank, Mr Albert Tauro has been appointed as CMD of Vijaya Bank. Earlier, Mr Tauro was an Executive Director in Central Bank of India. Andhra Bank has a new CMD in Mr R.S. Reddy, who was up till now an Executive Director in Union Bank of India. Mr George Joseph, who was an Executive Director at Syndicate Bank, has been elevated to CMD post in the same bank. While Mr Kamath has been appointed for a period of five years, which is the longest among the four newly appointed CMDs, Mr Joseph is likely to have a term of just about nine months as he is due to superannuate on April 30 next year.
