The Howrah Fish Market witnessed a low inflow of fish on Thursday as truckers across the country stopped ferrying goods from Wednesday. According to the Secretary of the Howrah Fish Importers Association, the Kolkata markets depend on fishes imported from Andhra Pradesh for ‘Rohu’ and ‘Katla’ varieties and Bangladesh for ‘Hilsa’. The Kolkata fish markets, which normally receive nearly 70 truck loads of fishes in various points, got only half of them today. —
