Back Nagaland annual Plan finalised

New Delhi, May 7

The annual Plan outlay for Nagaland for the year 2008-09 was approved on Wednesday at a meeting between the Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission, Mr Montek Singh Ahluwalia, and the Chief Minister of Nagaland, Mr Neiphiu Rio. The Annual Plan size was agreed at Rs 1,200 crore, including additional central assistance of Rs 150 crore. Mr Ahluwalia said that the State has been achieving good growth rates despite constraints. It was pointed out that despite infrastructural constraints the State has performed impressively in health and education sectors. He said that the central government should help improve air connectivity and provide efficient telecommunication network at the earliest. - Our Bureau
