Back Pharma, IT sectors in AP fare well: Survey Our Bureau Hyderabad, April 14 The bi-annual industry monitor survey, conducted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) – Southern Region for October 2007 to March 2008, reveals impressive growth of pharmaceutical and information technology industries in Andhra Pradesh. According to the survey, the production and sales grew by 20 per cent and 15 per cent, respectively, during October to March 2008 period against April to September last year. “The exports during the period increased by 10-16 per cent and the capacity utilisation levels increased between 10 per cent and 25 per cent,” the CII survey said. On the other hand, the pricing and profit margins recorded a 2-3 per cent and five per cent growth, respectively, it revealed. “The industry is also predicting a better performance during the current six-month period (April to September). Compared to October-March 2008 period, the industry demand is expected to increase by 15-20 per cent and the production is expected to increase between 10 per cent and 15 per cent,” the study noted. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu Business Line |
