Chennai, April 8 Extreme Networks India Pvt Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of the US-based Extreme Networks Inc, is betting big on India.

The company that designs, builds and installs ethernet infrastructure, currently provides technology solutions to mid and large companies including education institutions, healthcare, hospitality and government sectors on switching platforms network security, wireless LAN and controllers.

It has also marked its presence in the products segment with switching, wireless, security products and operating systems.

According to Mr Mark Canepa, President & CEO of the company, by having its Indian team work with the country’s leading channel partners and global technology partners, the company can more effectively bring in innovative network products that result in the growth of converged communications and their related efficiencies.

The company currently has two development centres in Chennai with over 100 people on the rolls. Globally, last year it earned $350 million and of this, Asia-Pacific contributed 20 per cent.

He said with a compounded annual growth rate of over 10 per cent globally, the Ethernet market will reach $35 billion by 2010. “This is what we want to focus on,” he said.
