Back Bartronics’ RFID wrist band secures US patent
Our Bureau Hyderabad, March 31 Bartronics America, the US subsidiary of Bartronics India, has acquired a US patent for non-reusable radio frequency-based tamper resistant wrist band or bracelet-like identification device, with an option for advertisements. This also serves as a cashless payment facilitator along with serving as an identification option. This product could have multiple applications in amusement parks, casinos and sporting events. The Chief Executive Officer of Bartronics, Mr Sudhir Rao, said that the company was in parleys with the likes of Walt Disney for Disney Land, Formula One and some amusement parks and baseball clubs to possibly offer these solutions. As ID cardA user would be tagged with this wrist band which serves as an identity card, and facilitates cash payments while being tamper proof. However, each of this could be customised for specific requirements and usage depending upon what it will serve, Mr Rao explained. Detailing its functions, Mr Rao said that these RFID (radio frequency identification) tags come with a chip embedded which helps control the access of a person in a specific area. “We are also in parleys to support cricket events being hosted in India,” he said. PotentialOn the market potential, Mr Rao said: “The product has wide-ranging applications and could actually bring a huge multiplier effect.
