Back ‘Science Express’ in Mangalore from March 29

Mangalore, March 25 ‘Science Express’ — the science exhibition train, jointly mooted by the Department of Science and Technology, the German Ministry of Higher Education and Research, and Max Planck Society — will be in Mangalore at the Mangalore Central Railway station from March 29 to April 1.

A statement said here on Tuesday that the train showcases the contemporary and futuristic advances in science. Twelve themes have been selected to cover different spheres of knowledge. BASF India, the chemical company, is the corporate partner in this project.

Dr Kasturirangan, former Chairman of ISRO, will inaugurate the exhibition in Mangalore on March 29. Mr Prasad Chandran, Chairman of BASF India, and Dr Sharatchandra, Chairman of the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, will be present on the occasion, the release added.
