Back Ctrl S Data Centers to build Tier IV structures

Hyderabad, Feb. 12 Ctrl S Data Centers Ltd plans to establish more than 7 lakh sq ft of data centre space across the country in the next five years, according to Mr P. Sridhar Reddy, Chairman and Managing Director.

While all the existing data centres in the country are Tier II and Tier III, Ctrl S is building Tier IV data centres, which are of the highest category anywhere in the world, Mr Reddy told newspersons last week.

A Tier IV data centre with its 99.995 per cent availability provides the highest levels of performance for mission-critical IT systems. The facility was formally inaugurated by Mr Sitaram Yechury, General Secretary of the CPI (M).

Future plans

The Hyderabad facility of Ctrl S can host up to 1,000 racks of servers. The company has firmed up plans to expand to Bangalore (2008); Mumbai (2009), Chennai (2009), New Delhi (2010) and other cities, building a capacity to host up to 20,000 racks.

The company is planning to invest more than Rs 200 crore over the next 12 months, and expects to have more than 1,000 employees in the next five years.
