Back ABG Infralogistics expands

ABG Infralogistics (formerly ABG Heavy Industries Ltd), which has decided to sell to PSA India its 49 per cent stake in its subsidiary ABG Kolkata Terminal Private Ltd — engaged in container handling in berth numbers 4,5 and 8 of Netaji Subhas Dock under the Kolkata Dock System — is believed to have plans to expand its operations in East coast ports, including Kolkata Dock System and Haldia Dock. For example, it has already installed a mobile harbour crane in E ast Quay berth in Paradip port and is toying with the idea of participating in cargo-handling operations at Haldia and Visakhapatnam ports. It has also bid, along with seven other firms, for the tender floated by Kolkata Port Trust for setting up a container freight station on the 80,000 sq metres of the port land under the Kolkata Dock System. It has also set its eyes on the transloading operation the Kolkata port authorities propose to undertake in the Sandheads for handling bulk cargoes.
