Back Bid & Hammer art auction in Bangalore

Bangalore, Jan. 17 Bid & Hammer, a full service art and antiques auction house offering a wide spectrum of expertise, will be holding its first auction on January 24 here.

A preview of the entire collection of painting will be held between January 21 and 23. A wide range of 131 collection of rare art works of Jamini Roy, M.V. Dhurandhar, Gaitonde and F.N. Souza besides works of art of young and contemporary artists will be on display.

According to Mr M. Maher Dadha, Chairman and Managing Director of Bid & Hammers, the preview will be attended among others by Gaj Singh, Maharaja of Jodhpur, Rukmini Varma , artist and grand niece of Raja Ravi Varma, Savita Apte, former head of Sothby’s South Asian Art, London and New York, and the entire Board of Directors and advisers of Bid & Hammer.

Mr Dadha said the company plans to increase offer size of auction form the current estimated Rs 10 crore to Rs 60 corre.
