Workers coming out of the Singur Tata Motors site on Thursday. One hundred and thirty one night guards were dismissed from the Singur car project by the West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation on Thursday on the ground that ’concrete fencing’ had been constructed and their services were not required at present. The dismissed night guards staged a demonstration to protest against the move, which led to disruption of work at the site. —
