SAIL ramps up iron ore production

The Raw Materials Division of SAIL has ramped up iron ore production to meet the enhanced requirement of SAIL’s steel plants in the Eastern sector of the country. Iron ore lump production touched 3.1 million tonne, notching a growth of 10.6 per cent during April-September 2007 compared with the same period of the previous year. The production of iron ore lump and fines in the mines has also gone up to 7.9 million tonne, recording a growth of 7.8 per cent . —
