Back France woos Indian tourists

New Delhi, Oct. 23

Maison de la France, the French Tourist Office, is organising its fifth ‘French Connection 2007’, a two-day road show to promote French tourism among Indian tourists. “Unlike earlier years when we focused on different cities, this year our main focus is on exclusive French events like Jazz, special exhibition of Picasso’s paintings and Disneyland with free offers for children under seven years, to lure Indians,” said Mr Pascal Visintainer, Ma rketing Director, Maison de la France, adding that many of these festivals do not occur every year. He said that 2 lakh Indians visit France every year and that a growth of over 15 per cent was expected in the next five years. A team of 42 delegates from 28 companies from France would meet India’s travel agents and tour operators in Delhi and Mumbai to identify long- term growth opportunities in both the countries.
