Back BSNL to embark on Rs 2,000-cr WiMax project Our Bureau New Delhi, Oct 19 After closing a mega GSM contract with Ericsson, BSNL will soon place an order for buying WiMax equipment that will be used to provide wireless broadband to two million subscribers. The project value is estimated to be around Rs 2,000 crore. “We will call Expression of Interest in a week for deploying two million lines for Wimax. The order size is expected to be about Rs 2,000 crore. With this project, we would be able to cover 25,000 villages across the country.
