Back 3-member panel to study pollution

Thiruvananthapuram, Sept. 21

The Kerala Government has decided to appoint a three-member committee to study the extent of pollution caused by the steel foundry units at the Kanjikode industrial estate in Palakkad. The decision was taken at a meeting called here to discuss the pollution being caused by the Kairali Steels and Allied Private Ltd. The committee will also study the implications for the integrated textile park slated to come up in the area. It will recommend suggestions for the sustained development of industries in the Kanjikode industrial belt. The committee will be headed by Dr M. P. Sukumaran Nair, Managing Director, Travancore Cochin Chemicals.
