Back HCL Info launches new server
Bangalore, Sept. 11 HCL Infosytems has unveiled a server based on Intel’s recently launched ‘Tigerton’ processor. The new server ‘IGL 4700FC’ has 16 computing cores in a mere 7-inch body, dishing up a performance that, five years ago, would have been possible only by a cluster of rack servers consuming at least 350 Watt of power per server, summing to 2,800 Watt. This server, in contrast, has a power requirement of under 1,600 Watt. The IGL 4700FC can single-hand edly cater to all infrastructure requirements of an emerging business and is designed to fit easily into a data centre.
