Back Toyota launches training programme in Pune
Our Bureau Pune, Aug. 27 The Toyota Technical Education Programme (TTEP), the training programme by Toyota, has been launched here. This is done by the Toyota Kirloskar Motor in conjunction with Toyota Motor Corporation and its dealer network in the country. Currently, TKM has partnered with five technical training institutes in the country. Talking to presspersons, Mr K.K. Swamy, Deputy Managing Director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor Ltd (TKML), said it would be launching another six more institutes in the country. These would be in Bangalore, Kochi, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, New Delhi and Pune. He said at the institute at Pimpri Chinchwad, the first batch of around 32 students would undergo the TTEP training while noting that over 1,000 students would be benefited through the programme. So far about 66 technicians out of the 74 who underwent the TTEP training at the institutes have been employed by Toyota dealership. The programme was started a year ago. Mr Swami said it would be partnering with 20 industrial training institutes in the country by 2009 and an investment of Rs 6 crore would be utilised for the entire TTEP. On the job training at Toyota dealerships would be part of the curricula and noted that TTEP curriculum has been synchronised with the ITIs syllabus in the second year of the course, he added.
