Back NCR Corp ties up with Australian co
Mumbai, Aug. 10 NCR Corporation has tied up with Symstream Technology Group Ltd, an Australia-based wireless technology company, to introduce Symstream II, a wireless connectivity software for its automated teller machines (ATMs). The technology will enable banks in India to deploy ATMs in the most remote sites, said Mr Scott Sobel, Vice-President, Business Development and Government Affairs, NCR Corporation, during a press conference organised by Indian Banks’ Association here today. The software will make use of voice channel, unlike traditional General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) connectivity using data, making it more reliable and fast. “This alliance will provide banks in India an opportunity to increase their ATM penetration with reduced overhead costs, better security, improved efficiency and functionality”, said Mr Sobel. The wireless ATM transactions will be nearly two to three times faster and will result in higher transaction volumes. — Our Bureau
