Back Floating in satisfaction

Kolkata Port to the rescue.

The authorities of the Kolkata Port Trust are happy that the port’s own resources, both human and technical, proved worthy of the critical job of pulling out a foreign cargo ship that got stuck on the bank of the Hooghly river in inclement weather a few days ago. The satisfaction is all the more because a reputed international salvage company, when contacted for the job, did not show much interest, pointing out that it was busy salvaging a ship on the west coast and, therefore, would not be immediately available. So it fell upon the port authorities to do the needful. By mobilising men and materials of its own, the port authorities succeeded in getting the ship afloat again.
