Toyota Kirloskar has brought the popular Toyota safety education programme into India. Launched by the Karnataka Transport Minister, Mr N. Chaluvurayaswamy, the programme will initially focus on schools in Bangalore and cover 20,000 schoolchildren in the first year. Toyota-Kirloskar Managing Director Mr A. Toyoshima told newspersons that the programme indicated the carmaker’s commitment towards India. Toyota-Kirloskar Deputy Managing Director Mr K.K. Swamy said the programme will include six major activities — mobile traffic park, traffic safety interactive course, traffic safety booths, interactive Web site, computer games and animated films on traffic safety. The initiative, which will be implemented by the NGO Anchorage, will be held over five days in 20 schools across Bangalore.
