Back Venezuelan team visits Novatium Solutions
Our Bureau Chennai, July 16 Chennai-based Novatium Solutions, which sells thin-client ‘network computers’, last week hosted a delegation led by the Governor of a State in Venezuela. Company officials were tightlipped about the purpose of the visit of the 5-member delegation led by Mr Didalco Antonio Bolivar Graterol, Governor of the state of Aragua, Venezuela, but people in the know say that the delegation was interested in learning of the ‘network computers’ and possible business opportunities. Novatium is known for its ‘network computer’, an intelligent computer designed on the lines of thin computing with a server-centric architecture. All computing and storage of data is done at the server while the user end only has an input device (keyboard/mouse), a display device (a screen/monitor) and a ‘smart box’ that connects the user through a data cable or telephone line to the server. The company pilot tested this product in the K.K. Nagar area in Chennai last year and had registered 100 subscribers, including 30 enterprise clients. When asked if the delegation had expressed interest in deploying Novatium’s technology in Venezuela, company officials said no, but they had wanted to see how the technology works.
