Sets up a data collection centre in London

The Mumbai-based research and analytics provider Ugam Solutions has set up a multilingual project management and data collection centre in London, UK, to provide business-to-business multi country research.

Scheduled to open in mid August this year, the new subsidiary will conduct research in the fields of banking and financial services, IT and healthcare.

Reserach

The centre will conduct high-end research in which respondents will typically be from the top management of companies, said Mr Sunil Mirani, co founder and CEO, Ugam Solutions.

“We will be hiring 50-60 employees of different linguistic origins. We want to create a team that has capabilities in 15-20 languages worldwide,” he said.

Subsidiary

The subsidiary is being setup at an initial investment of up to $1 million.

Ugam will be able to garner large deals that require multilingual expertise and its exisiting delivery capabilities in India will enable the company to route back-end work such as data analysis and interpretation, Mr Mirani said.

Mr Simon Glanville, former general manager of market reseach firm, RONIN, will be driving the initiative as the CEO of the new subsidiary.

Training centre

The centre will also act as a centre of excellence for training and for managing data collection teams in India and abroad. Ugam is also looking at acquiring a company with data analytics capabilities in the US within six months, added Mr Mirani.
