Back French honour for Ashwini Kakkar

The Vice-Chairman of Mercury Travels and Chairman of a Bangalore-based travel portal VIA, Mr Ashwini Kakkar, has been honoured with `Orde national du Merite' in the name of the President of French Republic by the Ambassador of France, Mr Dominique Girard, a press release said. Mr Kakkar, a graduate of INSEAD and a Francophile, has devoted around 25 years in working with the French political, economic and social institutions, the release said. He has held key positions at Maison de la France (French Tourism Office), the Indo-French Technical Association, INSEAD's International Council, and also President of Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chairman of World Travel and Tourism Council and President of Travel Agents Association of India.
