Sharma is top choice for ONGC

After interviewing 26 candidates of the 28 short-listed, the search committee headed by the Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB) Chairman, Mr N.K. Sinha, is understood to have recommended the name of Mr R.S. Sharma for the top job of ONGC.

Mr Sharma is currently the acting Chairman and Managing Director of the exploration major. Mr Sharma, who is also Director (Finance), seems to be in the reckoning once again since he had been short-listed for the job last year as well. The committee is understood to have recommended the name of Mr Najeeb Jung as second choice.
