eBay India Motors, an e-commerce portal that sells used cars, trucks and motorcycles online, plans to sell used three-wheelers also. The eBay India Motors' Director, Mr Amit Bhartiya, said at a press conference here today that the company was testing the market and might enter the segment in 2-3 months.

At eBay India Motors, part of US-based eBay, corporates, financial institutions, large dealers and fleet owners sell vehicles through auction to automobile dealers across the country. Around 8,000 dealers in 225 cities are registered to buy on eBay India Motors, he told newspersons. Mr Bhartiya said each day around 600 vehicles are auctioned on eBay India Motors platform. Sellers give a percentage, between 2 per cent and 5 per cent of the vehicle's final value, as commission to eBay. Buyers do not pay a fee.
