Back POSCO chief meets Finance, Industry Ministers

New Delhi March 23 The Chairman of Korean steel maker POSCO, Mr Ku Taek Lee, met the Union Finance Minister, Mr P. Chidambaram, on Friday to appraise him of the progresses in the company's Orissa project.

He also met the Union Commerce and Industry Minister, Mr Kamal Nath, today to discuss on the company's proposed steel plant in Orissa. The discussions were mainly related to the delays in the company's project work in Orissa, particularly on the two issues where it is facing problem, land and iron ore mining lease, sources said.

Company officials declined to respond.

Mr Kamal Nath has said that he would talk to the Orissa Chief Minister regarding the POSCO Chairman's concerns, sources said.
