Hyderabad March 6 Management students need to gear up for new challenges that the industry demands and expects out of them while continuing to harness their analytical and creative abilities, according to Prof. M.L. Sai Kumar, Head of Information Technology at the Institute of Public Enterprises.

Delivering the BL Club guest lecture on "Expectations from budding professional" at the Loyola Academy Degree and PG College, here on Monday, Prof Sai Kumar said that the industry expectations are growing by the day and MBA students need to build on fundamental concepts while developing good communication skills.

INDUSTRY EXPECTATIONS

The industry expects good attitude and aptitude and looks for inquisitive nature in individuals who are willing to generate new knowledge in their day-to-day work environment. The ability to harness the potential for problem solving nature through analytical ability is something that the industry expects of management students, he said.

Bringing a distinction, Prof Sai Kumar said scientist is like a rishi who is seeking truth and a professional is like a rajarishi who has to see the truth and also put it into practice. While for a scientist Satyamvada is enough, a professional requires Satyamvada and Dharmamchara.

Knowledge is a continuous process of improvement and knowledge and education must be life long pursuits. A budding professional needs to have this ability to collectively manage time, cost, quality, safety, security, productivity, profitability while keeping constant vigil on environment, he explained.
