Back Spot rubber unchanged

Kottayam March 3 Spot rubber closed static on Saturday. The prices stagnated lacking buyers but still sustained at the quoted levels since sellers were not interested to offer lower rates. RSS 4 closed unchanged at Rs 94 a kg both at Kottayam and Kochi as on Friday. The volumes were dull.

Futures decline

Rubber futures declined sharply in the weekend session. The market seemed to be reacting exclusively in favour of domestic fundamental factors as there was no trend setting news from the global scene, sources said.

The March contract finished at Rs 92.30 against Rs 93.29 a kg on MCX.

Spot prices were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 94 (94); RSS-5: 92 (92); ungraded: 90.50 (90.50); ISNR 20: 90.50 (90.50) and latex 60 per cent: 62.60 (62.60).
