Back Apollo launches new scan method

Apollo Hospitals has performed myocardial perfusion scan with ammonia on PET-CT machine. "We have done it for the first time in India," Dr Hari Prasad, Chief Executive Officer of Apollo Hospitals (Hyderabad), claimed.

"This is the latest and the most accurate non-invasive investigation to show blood flow to the heart muscle, giving specific indication about the functioning of different parts of the heart," he said. "It is an ideal screening test for patients with risk factors such as smoking, obesity and hereditary predisposition." The method cost Rs 9,000.
