Satyam to open facility in Nanjing

Hyderabad Feb. 8 IT services provider Satyam Computer Services Ltd on Thursday announced the move to set up a Global Delivery Campus in Nanjing, China.

With 2,500 seats, it will be the organisation's largest development facility outside of India and include development and training and residential apartments.

The groundbreaking ceremony for its construction was performed on Thursday.

An agreement was signed between Mr Rama Raju, CEO, Satyam, and Mr Shao Qiang, Standing Director of Nanjing New and High Technology Development Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Nanjing Hitech Zone.

The Satyam Director, Mr Virender Aggarwal, said: "the launch of this campus marks the beginning of a new era of how our global customers will be serviced.

The Nanjing campus will contribute to Satyam's Virtually Integrated Global Delivery Model and complement established facilities in Malaysia, Cairo, Shanghai and Guangzhou."

Early entrant

The company has been one of the earliest entrants in the Chinese market with its first development centre established in Shanghai in 2002 with 10 associates.

Satyam China today has grown with presence in Shanghai, Beijing, Dalian and Guangzhou.
