Back Spot rubber slips on global correction

Kottayam Feb. 2 Another corrective phase in international rubber prices, especially Japanese futures, hammered the domestic market on Friday. At the physical front, sheet rubber declined to Rs 100.50 from Rs 101 a kg both at Kottayam and Kochi as on Friday.

The arrivals have improved considerably and there was selling from dealers and growers, an observer said.

Futures mixed

A mixed trend was observed in rubber futures.

On NMCE, the last traded price for the February contract was quoted at Rs 102.50 (Rs 103), March at Rs 105.54 (Rs 105.51), April to Rs 110.86 (Rs 110.31) and May contract to Rs 114.70 (Rs 114.69) per kg for RSS 4. Spot prices were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 100.50 (101); RSS-5: 96 (96.50); ungraded: 94.25 (94.75); ISNR 20: 94 (94) and latex 60 per cent: 66.30 (67.35).
