Back Colgate-Palmolive Q3 net up 21 pc

Colgate-Palmolive (India) Ltd has reported a 21 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 50.4 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2006, compared with Rs 41.73 crore posted during the same period of the previous year. The net sales increased by 13 per cent to Rs 322.3 crore (Rs 285.71 crore).Unit volume growth momentum continued to drive sales. Volume for the core toothpaste category grew 13 per cent during the quarter. The toothbrush category also continued its strong growth momentum with volume growing 15 per cent during the quarter.

The company has achieved earnings per share of Rs 3.70 for the quarter and Rs 8.06 for the nine months, an increase of 21 per cent and 9 per cent respectively.
