Coimbatore , Jan. 17

The leaf and dust offerings of tea last week were almost equal at 3.61 lakh kg and 3.67 lakh kg, totalling 7.28 lakh kg.

Demand for the orthodox leaf was fair.

The larger leaf grades quoted firm to dearer, others were irregular around the last level.

Clean-made whole leaf was firm to dearer, but medium brokens remained largely unsold. CIS exporters lent support to all well-made teas, HLL was selective and Iraq subdued.

Internal buyers and few exporters operated on orthodox dust.

Brighter liquoring CTC leaf grades witnessed fair support from upcountry buyers. CIS exporters operated on bolder grades. HLL was silent, while Tata Tea and some internal buyers lent support.
