Tegic Communications, a wholly owned subsidiary of AOL LLC, announced the availability of its popular T9 Text Input software in Kannada, a language spoken by more than 50 million people in India and around the world.

By automatically providing suggestions for completing longer words, the new T9 software helps simplify mobile messaging in Kannada.

Further, T9 Text Input software quickly learns which words a user prefers and prioritises completion of the words the user types most often.

A language database including high usage frequency words makes it easier to type and send SMS text messages quickly. The new stem-locking feature enables users to highlight the first few characters of a word and see only those words that begin with the specific set of characters. This new functionality helps the user identify their intended word more quickly by displaying a tailored word choice list. In addition to the new features above, T9 Text Input software enables easier switching between languages for users who prefer to text in more than one language, back-up of user-added words and text input preferences, and a next word prediction function.

Tegic's T9 Text Input software helps users of mobile phones and devices to quickly write SMS text messages in 60 global languages, including seven other Indian languages - Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil and Urdu.
