Back Global consultants, investment banks scout for IIMB talent Anjali Prayag
Bangalore , Dec. 29 Global consulting and investment banks are already making a beeline to net talent from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. Boston Consulting Group, Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers, Barclays, HSBC Global and Temasek Holdings are among the biggies that have made about 64 pre-placement offers (36 of them overseas) to the graduating batch of the IIMB. London, New York, Tokyo and Hong Kong are some of the locations offered to the students. "Most of these are Day Zero companies and many of the offers would be accepted," said Mr Sourav Mukherji, Chairman, Placements, Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. Apart from consulting and banking firms, P&G and US Technologies have also made offers, he added. Mr Mukherji, however, refused to reveal any salary figures. Students at the Institute, however, said that compensation would be in line with other IIMs and comparable to last year's salary packages. It may be recalled that last year, Mr Gaurav Agrawal, an IIMB topper had walked away with a Rs 1-crore package. Pre-placement offers (PPOs) are job offers made well before the actual placement season starts, which generally takes place in March of every year. PPOs are made based on the students' summer internship performance.
