Back 4 bodies recovered from coal mine Our Bureau
Kolkata , Dec. 1 Four bodies, out of the six miners trapped on Wednesday inside the Shyamsundarpur underground mine of Bankula area under Eastern Coalfields Ltd (ECL), were recovered till 6 p.m. today. It is expected that two other bodies, which are still untraceable, may be recovered very soon. Meanwhile, the Union Minister of State for Coal, Dr Dasari Narayana Rao has announced Rs 3 lakh as ex-gratia to the next of kin in addition to other payments due to normal course. These include; (i) between Rs 2 lakh and Rs 4 lakh varying with the tenure of service, (ii) against life insurance scheme of Rs 40,000, (iii) welfare ex-gratia of Rs 30,000 and Rs 750 for funeral expenses. Besides, employment to the next of kin to one dependent of each deceased shall be given as per rules of the company.
