Back Hospital to treat children with AIDS

The first paediatric hospital specifically to take care of young people with HIV/AIDS will be opened in South 24-Parganas district of Kolkata on World AIDS Day, which falls on December 1. The Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court, Mr Justice V.S. Sirpurkar, will inaugurate the project named Anandaghar. Around 40 million people are living with HIV in the world with India alone accounting for 5.7 million. By 2020-25 the figure could touch 20 to 25 million people, according to the Organization for Friends Energies and Resources (OFFER) which is setting up Anandaghar. — Our Bureau
