The Andhra Pradesh Government has sought 750-1,000 sq yards of land from the Rajasthan Government for the construction of a sarai, near the Dargah Khwaja Garib Nawaz in Ajmer. In a letter to the Rajasthan Chief Minister, Ms Vasundhara Raje Scindia, the AP Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, said the objective was to mitigate the hardship of pilgrims going to the holy place from AP. He said pilgrims were facing lot of inconvenience for accommodation and proper guidance at Ajmer every year. Dr Reddy urged his Rajasthan counterpart to allot a suitable land either on market value or gratis for taking up construction at the earliest.
