US-based Parakletos @Ventures has extended support

BroVis Wireless Networks has received venture finance of $3 million to fund its global expansion and product development plans.

The US-based Parakletos @Ventures has extended the fund support and the head of this venture capital firm, Dr Paul Kim, has joined the board of BroVis as Chairman.

Disclosing these developments, the Founder and CEO of BroVis, Mr Muthu Logan, said his company had entered into an agreement with Iconbase sdn bhd, Malaysia, for distribution and support of BroVis products in ten South East Asian countries, including Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand.

Besides this tie-up, BroVis is also planning to establish its second production unit at Kuala Lumpur for local consumption and exports, said Mr Logan. The company has already started shipping its systems to China, West Asia, Africa, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh

"Fresh investments would strengthen our expansion activities and enable us to acquire the necessary resources. Value addition through R&D is indispensable and we would continue to excel in the same," he said.

Expansion plans

According to Mr Logan, the company's products and solutions represent a unique application of its core wireless technology — True EXORT — reaches distances of up to five kilometers in NLOS (Non-Line -of-Support) applications and Point-to-Multipoint network configurations. "NLOS capabilities allows operators to reach more customers while reducing overall costs," he explained.

BroVis is also planning to add Dynamic Mesh and Wi-Max capabilities soon. On tapping the market in India, he said the company would look at expanding into newer regions aggressively. "We are in the process of launching a whole new range of wireless products by the end of this fiscal ."

BroVis has around 20 channel partners worldwide.
