Back Meet to discuss commodity as an asset class

For the first time in the country, a national-level commodity conference will seek to answer whether commodities are an emerging asset class, according to Radical Communications, organisers of Commasset 2006.

Some of the key speakers in the two-day meet include Mr Lamon Rutten, Joint Managing Director of MCX India (`Integration of Indian market with Global Market'); Mr Rajan Mehta of Benchmark Mutual Funds (`Exchange Traded Fund for Gold'); and Mr Vineet Bhatnagar of Man Financials (`Brokers as Knowledge Partners for Investors').

Mr Rajeev Agarwal, Member, Forward Markets Commission, will share the regulator's perspective of the commodity futures market.

Hedge fund opportunities in India, structured products in commodity investment, research approach to commodity investment, role of FIIs as also choice between active and passive investment are some of the other topics to be covered by experts.

The conference will be held in Mumbai during September 2-3. Brokers, traders, exchange officials, service providers, research analysts and investors are expected to participate.
