TRADERS IN A FIX: A vendor displaying corn at a market in Kerala. Maize prices in the country are rising due to lean season for crop arrivals and delay in the release of corn stocks held with the Government. This has put poultry feed manufacturers and maize traders in a tight spot. However, the kharif acreage has increased from 52.20 lakh hectares last season to 57.33 lakh hectares this season.
